About the Recipe

Easy homemade pop tarts are a fun and customizable treat. They're made with flaky pie crust, filled with your favorite jam, and topped with a sweet glaze. Perfect for breakfast, snacks, or desserts!

Ingredients

Dough

Homemade Pie Crust Recipe (or 1 package of 2 pie crusts)

1 cup + 2 Tbsp strawberry jam or preserves

1 large egg


Icing

1 cup powdered sugar

2-3 Tablespoons milk

1/2 tsp vanilla

Sprinkles

Directions

Preheat oven to 400°F.


Make an egg wash by beating the egg in a small bowl.


Roll out the pie crust & cut into 3" x 5" rectangles.


Place 1 Tablespoon of starwberry jam on half of the rectangles.


Brush the edges with the egg wash.


Place the other rectangle on top to seal them and then crimp the edges with a fork.


Brush the tops with the remaining egg wash & poke small holes into the top of each tart.


Bake 12-15 minutes.


Make the icing by mixing the powdered sugar, milk & vanilla.


Allow to cool, then frost with the icing & add sprinkles.


Store in an airtight container.
